DESCRIPTION
Merchant ship . Built for Peirce , Becker & Ilardi , Messina , Italy . Date closer to the unknown. 280 feet long ( 82.3 meters) . In 1924 the name changed to Sicily . There is , however, as to 100 % sure as the other Sicilia was built in 1890 and another in 1900 . In total, established 7 Sicilia named vessels during 1924 . In 1924, sold for ' Rederi A / B Steam ' in Finland so probably name changed in that time. August 23, 1941 , Sicily came on a mine situated probably by the Soviet submarine L -3 and sank in two minutes NE of Kolobrzeg , during the voyage of Oxelösundu , Sweden , to Germany with a cargo of ore żelaza.Zginęło 10 sailors.
