DESCRIPTION
Built in 1923 AG Vulcan shipyard in Szczecin. Launched in 31 July 1923. It's first cruise was in 05.01.1924 from Bremenhafen to New York. In 1930 moved to Far East lines. In 1938 sold to Deutshe Arbeitsfront in Hamburg. In May 1939 together with other ships (Robert Ley, Wilhelm Gustloff, Sierra Cordoba, Der Deutsche) comes back from Spain where collects Kondor legion and gous back to Germany. In 1939 used by Kriegsmarine as Lazarettshiff "C" - hospital ship. Then in 1939-43 used as hospital ship in Norway. In October 1943 bombed by US aviation. It is burning very quickly so it is taken out of the harbor and sunk along with the bodies of the fallen. Due to the risk of shipping in later years completely destroyed.
