DESCRIPTION
U-272 (typ VIIC, 8 Flotylla, dow. por. Horst Hepp 1917-1944) sunk on November 12, 1942, during a training voyage following a collision with another German submarine U-634 north of Hel, near Mountain Swedes (in German documents used the term "In der Ostsee bei Hela '). At the time of an accident on board were 41 crew members, including an original composition before the cruise was missing 11 persons who have been in business trips, training, hospital and on leave.
Until recently, the wreck was known under the wrong definition of U-346. With a group of divers from the Tri-City under the direction of Daniel Pastwa and many dives verified the name of the U-272.
