DESCRIPTION
On Saturday , May 31, 2003 , a few miles north of the Hammerodde the north- west coast of Bornholm , there was a collision of the Chinese bulk carrier " Fu Shan Hai " ( 225 m length, 69.973 DWT ) with flying the Cypriot flag container ship "Gdynia" (100 m length, 5.183 DWT ) . Around noon freighter "Gdynia" hit the port side of the Chinese unit , between the first and second cargo hold . " Fu Shan Hai " was in the hold 66,000 tons of fertilizer, which is transported from Latvia to China, while "Gdynia" was on its way from Polish to the UK. As a result of a collision in the chair. Chinese bulk carrier sank 20.49 , putting on alert Danish emergency services and Bornholm Ronne , who managed to save the entire crew of the ship. "Gdynia" turned on her own port in Gdynia . The wreck for several years has been closed due to the large amounts of toxic fertilizers lingering in the holds. In spring 2007 the ban was lifted dive on it .
